Jimi Hendrix and the Fender Stratocaster Olympic White

Life and career of Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix was one of the most influential and innovative musicians in rock history. Born on November 27, 1942 in Seattle, Washington, Hendrix began playing guitar at an early age, influenced by musicians such as Muddy Waters and BB King. Throughout his career, Hendrix revolutionized the music world with his unique style of playing the electric guitar and his unique sense of showmanship: at the height of his concerts he played while resting the guitar on the back of his head, without look at it, and sometimes he would tear the strings with his teeth.

In the 1960s, Hendrix moved to London, where he formed his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and quickly became a sensation on the music scene. The author and performer of Hey Joe, Little Wing and Foxy Lady cemented his place as a rock legend. His life was cut short prematurely on September 18, 1970, but his legacy lives on as one of the most influential guitarists of all time.

The guitar - Fender Stratocaster Olympic White

Hendrix gave his most memorable concert at the 1969 Woodstock festival with his Fender Stratocaster Olympic white. In 2002 Fender Custom Shop created 4 exact replicas of the one used by Hendrix in Woodstock, one of them went to Hendrix’s family, another stayed in the Fender museum, the third stayed in Seattle’s Experience Music Project Museum and, in Guitar Legends Hall, you can find the fourth of them.
