Matthias Jabs, born October 25, 1955 in Hannover, Germany, is a guitarist recognized for his work with the legendary hard rock band Scorpions.
He began his musical career in the 1970s, playing with several local bands in Germany. In 1978, he joined Scorpions as lead guitarist, replacing Uli Jon Roth. One of the keys to the success of the German Scorpions is the melodic and energetic style of Matthias Jabs. His ability on the six strings can be seen in rock anthems such as Rock you like a Hurricane or Wind of change.
In addition to his work with Scorpions, Jabs has participated in several side projects and released several solo albums. His guitar prowess and contribution to Scorpions’ continued success have made him one of the most respected and admired guitarists in the hard rock and heavy metal scene.
