Cliff Williams, born December 14, 1949 in Romford, England, is a British musician recognized primarily for his role as bassist of the iconic rock band AC/DC. Williams began his musical career in the late 1960s, playing in several local bands before joining Home, with whom he recorded two albums. However, his big break came in 1977 when he joined AC/DC, replacing bassist Mark Evans.
AC/DC is not a band given to change. They have been faithful to their direct hard rock of riffs and catchy choruses since the seventies. Maybe that’s why they are one of the biggest bands in the world.
Over more than four decades with the band, he participated in the recording of rock classics such as “Highway to Hell”, “Back in Black” and “Thunderstruck”, contributing significantly to their worldwide success.
Cliff Williams bought five identical Music Man StingRay basses, numbered them one through five, and played them live between 1976 and 2017. The one you will see in Guitar Legends Hall is number 4, a historical piece with which Williams has performed all the Australian group’s classics on dozens of international tours.
