Richie Sambora, born July 11, 1959 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, best known for being the lead guitarist of the rock band Bon Jovi.
Sambora joined Bon Jovi in 1983 and quickly became a key creative force behind the group’s success, co-writing many of their biggest hits such as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Wanted Dead or Alive” and “It’s My Life.” “. His style of guitar playing has been instrumental to Bon Jovi’s signature sound.
In addition to his work with the band, Sambora has released several solo albums, including “Stranger in This Town” (1991) and “Undiscovered Soul” (1998), which showcase his ability to blend rock, blues and soul.
